Youssef Marzouk received his S.B. (1997), S.M. (1999), and Ph.D. (2004) degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, all in mechanical engineering. His research interests broadly center on computational mathematics, with focuses on the optimization and control of vortical flows, turbulent combustion, particle methods, and parallel computing. He also has interests in dynamical systems and model order reduction. His doctoral dissertation examined 3-D vortex dynamics and turbulent mixing in transverse jets and developed new tools for optimally partitioning N-body problems.
