Michael Baym is a Ph.D. candidate in Applied Mathematics at MIT, working in Bonnie Berger's lab. He is researching the application of modern algorithmic techniques to central questions in biology. He is particularly interested in questions of inference and manipulation of biological networks, including genetic regulatory, protein interaction and metaboloic networks.
Michael holds a BS and an AM in Mathematics from the University of Illinois and is also the recipient of an NDSEG graduate fellowship.
In his free time, Michael enjoys Capoeira, climbing and skiing.
